Real-time Monitoring of von Willebrand Factor in the Catheterization Laboratory: The Seatbelt of Mini-invasive Transcatheter Aortic Valve Replacement
Dr. Flavien Vincent, France
The talk introduces the concept of real-time monitoring of von Willebrand factor in the catheterization laboratory during minimally invasive transcatheter aortic valve replacement and presents the first feedback from a multicentric study in France of the concept called WITAVI-REAL.

Current advances in the diagnosis of von Willebrand disease - Webinar
Dr. Kenneth D. Friedmann, US
The accurate and timely diagnosis of von Willebrand disease is a challenge for clinicians. Complex algorithms must be applied before a definite diagnosis can be made. The algorithms are covering the patient’s bleeding history as well as many laboratory tools. This session includes a presentation on the recently updated guidelines and recommendations. The second presentation, focusing on the laboratory experience with INNOVANCE VW Ac, is available on the Siemens Healthineers learning platform PEPconnect.

The Evolving Role of Artificial Intelligence in Laboratory Testing
Dr. Sarah Wheeler, South Africa
Dr. Raj Gopalan, US
This webinar explores the increasing role of artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) in laboratory medicine, especially in laboratory testing, results reporting, and interpretation.
With the advent of superfast cloud computing, robotics, and AI techniques, it is possible to revolutionize modern laboratories through the automation of physical sample processing, and the generation and reporting of patient lab test results. We expect that AI will greatly expand the value that laboratory testing offers.
In the future, labs may provide test result interpretation services, recommend appropriate tests to be performed for a given patient, and provide support to help physicians determine the most appropriate diagnosis. Thus, the modern lab will continue to increase its importance as an integral part of the patient management process.

Managing the challenges of IVDR transition together: IVDR implementation - practical laboratory experience
Prof. Dr. Ulrich Sachs, Germany
In his presentation he is sharing some insights on implementation of the IVDR regulation, with focus on in-house-testing in a University Hospital lab and the additional requirements related to IVDR, compared to accreditation requirements und ISO 15189.
